Privacy notice
Last updated 13 October 2026
Short version: we don’t collect anything about you or your health. There are no accounts, no cookies and no tracking. Everything happens on the device you’re using, and it’s forgotten when you close the page.
What happens to what you enter
Anything you set or type in a Show Me Where tool (for example a tumour’s position, a name or initials, or a note) stays in the web page on your screen. It is not sent to us or anyone else, and it isn’t saved in your browser. Close or reload the page and it’s gone.
QR codes that reopen a picture
A picture sheet can include a QR code that reopens the same 3D picture. The model’s settings (such as the tumour’s position and stage, and the operation shown) are written into the code itself, after a “#” in the link. Browsers never send that part of a link to a website, so we never receive it and nothing is stored. The code never contains a name, note or contact details. Anyone who scans the printed code can see the same picture, so keep the sheet as you would any letter about your health.
Picture sheets
When a picture sheet is made, it is drawn on your device and saved straight to that device’s downloads folder. It is never uploaded. What happens to the file after that is up to the person who saved it. Clinicians should follow their organisation’s rules for sharing patient information.
What we don’t use
- No accounts or sign-in, and the only form is the optional feedback form
- No cookies, local storage or similar technologies
- No analytics, advertising, social media buttons or tracking pixels
- No third-party scripts or fonts: everything is served from showmewhere.org.uk
Because we don’t use cookies, there is no cookie banner.
Our hosting provider
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare has to receive your device’s IP address and basic technical details (such as your browser type) to send you the page and protect the site from attacks, and may keep short-lived security logs. We don’t add anything to this, and we don’t use it to identify or follow anyone. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Share buttons and links to other sites
The share buttons are ordinary links. Nothing from Facebook, X, WhatsApp or any other service loads on our pages; you only connect to them if you click. The same goes for links to charities and the NHS. Once you’re on another site, its own privacy notice applies.
If you send feedback or email us
The feedback form sends what you type straight to the email inbox of the person who runs Show Me Where, using Cloudflare’s email service. It is not saved on this website or in any database. If you give your name or email address, they are included so we can reply. We use your message only to improve the site and to reply to you, and delete messages we no longer need. Please don’t include personal medical details.
The same applies if you email us directly.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you. Because we don’t hold any from using the site, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you’ve sent feedback or emailed us, you can ask us to delete your messages at hello@showmewhere.org.uk. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
If this ever changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change happens.
